If you feel suicidal, please
talk to someone immediately.
Help is available right now...
I’m so glad you’ve reached out to me for help, and I will help. But starting therapy can take days (or sometimes even weeks), and if you’re in crisis it’s important that you reach out to someone right away.
If you just want to talk to someone who cares, the best way to do that right now is to call, text, or chat the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Veterans and active-duty service members and their loved ones can call, text, or chat the Veterans Crisis Line to speak to someone qualified to help veterans (even if you’re not enrolled in VA healthcare or benefits).
If you’re in immediate crisis — that is, if you don’t think you can control your behavior in this moment — you can visit your nearest urgent care or hospital emergency room to be evaluated by a doctor. If you don’t have transportation, call 911 and you may be transported to be evaluated at a hospital by police or ambulance.
After you’ve attended to your immediate needs, I do hope you’ll return here to resume your search for therapy.
